The PCH Benchmarks Collaborative aimed at defining benchmark criteria for best achievable outcomes in surgical resection of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma.
This retrospective multicenter cohort study aimed at defining benchmark values for best achievable outcomes following major liver surgery due to biliary malignancies. A secondary aim was to identify the minimal follow-up necessary to properly assess morbidity associates with major liver surgery for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (PHC).
This was achieved by conducting a multicenter cohort study of all consecutive liver resections due to perihilar cholangiocarcinoma including several high volume centers over a period of 5 years.
